Award winning ad agency re-launches travel magazine
AdFokus, the award-winning ad agency in the country, announced the re-launch of its innovative travel magazine—Journey Philippines Visitors Guide.
Launching monthly, starting in January 2004, Journey Philippines Visitors Guide will feature tourism and travel news from all over the country and will provide practical information for local and foreign tourists.
Journey Philippines Visitors Guide magazine was first conceived in 1990 with the aim of bringing an alternative publication to the forefront of the Philippine travel and tourism market. Journey Philippines Visitors Guide was originally a letter-sized, full-color, monthly publication widely distributed in select areas and newsstands. In re-launching Journey Philippines Visitors Guide, AdFokus transformed it into an avant-garde 4”x 8” format, full-color publication—a more convenient, carry-along size.
“With over a decade of experience and involvement in mass media and communications, AdFokus is still confident that the Philippine print industry is still a good market to tap especially for travel and tourism related publications. These are unsettled times and we need to promote the image of the country as a premier tourist destination in this part of the world. Journey Philippines Visitors Guide aims to do just that. We have beautiful sights to see, feasts to celebrate and culture to experience and our magazine captures all of that,” said Norman Tandoc, publisher of the new magazine and president of AdFokus.

Noted of which are Journey Philippines, Metro Cebu Journal, Pic ‘n Buy Journal and Motor Sports Magazine to name a distinct few. This year, AdFokus bagged its latest recognition by being the 2003 National Consumers Affairs Foundation awardee as “The Most Improved Advertising Agency of the Year”—another testament to the company’s continuing achievement as one of the established leaders in the industry.
Journey Philippines Visitors Guide is a limited, free-copy magazine and will initially be available only in select hotels, embassies, shopping centers, airports, high tourist traffic areas and distribution points in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.
