For travelers in the market for a ski vacation and not sure where to go, a new DVD captures what written words and still photos can’t, 60 minutes of pure powder action and resort activity highlights.
Australian based company Snowdvd.com has created a winter resort travel guide focused on giving viewers a unique insight into world famous ski and snowboard destinations. Described as an “Interactive Visual Resort Guide” the DVD video priced at 22.95 USD (13.50 GBP) “plus shipping” is available through the Snowdvd.com web site and ships worldwide through iFulfill.com, a fulfillment company based in Maumee, Ohio, USA.
Filmed over the 2002/3 season Snowdvd.com Volume One (www.snowdvd.com) snares fast paced snow action and après ski highlights at eight top resorts worldwide: Vail, Colorado; Steamboat, Colorado; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Davos, Switzerland; St.Moritz, Switzerland; Flims Laax Falera, Switzerland ; Les Arcs, France and Val d'Isére, France.
Snowdvd is the first interactive visual guide for vacationers that drops viewers into the middle of the resort where they can cruise the runs, master the moguls, hit the half pipe, walk the town, experience the culture and view the nightlife as if they were at the destination. A rocking music score by independent bands from around the globe provides a background for the fast paced visuals.
“Written guides are fine for statistics and opinion, but just can’t give you the feeling of being there” said producer Paul Aughterson. “A winter holiday is a big financial commitment and choosing a resort can be daunting, Europe alone has over 400 ski resort options. Snowdvd.com profiles the best resorts giving the viewer the knowledge to decide which resort best suits them”
Resort response has been overwhelming, St.Moritz, Switzerland head of PR Claudio Duschletta states “the pictures are amazing”. Les Arcs, France are headlining the DVD on a continuous promotional loop at famous Paris department store "Les Galeries Lafayette" until March end.
Easy to use interactive menus allow fast navigation to information of interest. Using the included DVD@ccess software for PC and MAC, users can log onto resort web sites through built in DVD-Rom web links, check snow conditions, view the latest package deals and book a trip.
