The talented and award-winning Saffire-The Uppity Blues Women are returning to the Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno, Nevada for a special one-night-only performance, Saturday, January 31.

Saffire is a trio of irrepressible women and while it isn’t easy being an all-female band in the male-dominated blues world, their hard work, undeniable talents and a sassy, take-no-gruff style has paid off. The group has done five albums and each has received critical praise and has drawn more fans to watch The Uppity Blues Women perform in person.
   
Saffire’s witty, soulful music delivered from a very female point of view, has always been at its best when the group is performing live. The Buffalo New York News says the group combines “Honey-in-the-woods harmonies, sass-and-pepper spirit, and enough attitude to make Dennis Rodman blush.”

In 1984 Ann Rabson and Gaye Adegbalola joined together and started playing in small Virginia clubs. Rabson is a mother who has been playing professionally in some capacity all her life. Adegbalola grew up in Virginia and spent most of her life as a teacher, until she met Rabson and started taking guitar lessons from her. In 1992 Andra Faye joined the group. Faye was a registered nurse who played in local bands in her free time, until she was asked to play on a Saffire album.
