Ryanair, the maverick European discounter, will do nearly anything to generate extra revenue. It rents apartments, peddles insurance, sells lotto cards and puts advertising on its planes. Although none of the U.S. carriers are embracing the trend as enthusiastically as Ryanair, some hope to maximize non-ticket revenue.
