Mideast tourists advised to watch and wait
Until this month’s cross-border war in Lebanon and northern Israel, both countries were on track to draw a record contingent of foreign tourists in 2006. Now, with the World Tourism Organization seeing no “foreseeable time frame for a return to normalcy,” all bets are off and tour operators worry that fallout from the escalating conflict could expand to other regional destinations.

Royal Caribbean profits hit by high fuel costs
(Bloomberg) Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the worlds second-biggest cruise operator, said profit dropped 21 percent on higher fuel prices.
