Historic Sailing Ship Delivers High Seas Adventure in the Northwest

Step back in time to the sailing days of old, become part of the Zodiac crew, helping to raise and lower the sails, taking your turn steering the ship, and helping to sail to whatever physical extent is comfortable. The Zodiac is offering a series of cruises in the San Juan Islands and a ten-day cruise in British Columbia's spectacular Desolation Sound.

The Schooner Zodiac homeports in Bellingham, Washington during her cruising season. Historic Bellingham, just south of the Canadian border and less than two hours drive from Seattle, is close to some of the most beautiful waters in the world.

Built for the heirs to a manufacturing fortune, Zodiac was designed to epitomize the speed and beauty of the American fishing schooner. She continued her working life as a Bar Pilot schooner in San Francisco. She was the last American schooner still working in that capacity in the United States when she retired from the bar in 1972.

In order to help maintain the Zodiac as a sea worthy functioning vessel a second generation of volunteers continues to serve under a qualified captain. The Zodiac carries experienced cooks who delight in preparing northwest specialties such as salmon and fresh vegetables. The ship also carries a large outdoor grill for evenings at anchor.

The Zodiac is a perfect choice for private cruises for school outings, weddings, family reunions and company parties-- even management training seminars. Her comfortable berths, great food and cozy lounge areas provide the perfect follow-up to an exhilarating day of sailing, sunning and exploring.

The Schooner Zodiac's 2004 schedule includes:
·Hacks & Flacks Spring Sailing -For people who love wind
·Run Away to Sea/See -Spectacular sailing awaits you
·Inter-Generation Cruises -Bring a grandchild
·Women's Cruises -Women rock — the boat
·Desolation Sound -Canada's Warm Water Sound
·Lighthouse Tours -Lighthouses of the Northwest
·A Writing & Sailing Adventure -An active seminar for Writers
·Watercolor Class -Zodiac hosts a weekend art class
