har*GIS, LLC, provider of mobile Field Information Systems™, and Enspiria Solutions, Inc., an Information Technology services company providing consulting, systems integration, data services, and staff augmentation to utilities, today announced the formation of a business partnership to help customers improve field crew operations through the integration of advanced mobile technologies into existing business processes.
The organizations agreed to work together to deliver and implement the TruckMap*™ Field Information System developed by har*GIS to electric, gas, water and other utility organizations that deploy field crews and manage service fleets. har*GIS will configure and deliver the TruckMap* software for specific projects, while Enspiria Solutions will perform project consulting, system integration, implementation and deployment services. Enspiria Solutions will assist customers in identifying new opportunities for field force automation, performing business process analysis, defining systems requirements and field-enabling client’s enterprise application and corporate databases with TruckMap*’s exclusive Field Server™.
Up to 60 percent of a utility company’s staff performs all or some of their work tasks in the field. Field Information Systems improve operations by automating the flow of data to and from the field and eliminating the paper-based business processes performed by field crews today. TruckMap* mobilizes large amounts of geospatial and tabular data from enterprise databases and moves it into a common computing environment for use by field crews. With TruckMap*, field tasks in support of multiple vertical applications can be performed on handheld computers, low-cost Windows Mobile® computers and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs).
