BUNAC’s Work Australia 2003-2004 program closing soon
BUNAC’s Work Australia 2003-2004 program closes this June, so all planning to journey Down Under over the coming months with BUNAC must submit their completed applications by June 1 in order to travel on the current allocation. Australia is a fantastic destination for living and working abroad, and BUNAC’s Work Australia program is a 4-month non-competitive work/travel program to Australia that gives U.S. citizens aged 18-30 the opportunity to experience Australian culture firsthand.
By working abroad you stop being a tourist and start becoming a local; there is no better way to truly embrace a foreign culture than to become a part of it by working in almost any job in any part of the country. Additional benefits of the Work Australia program include visa processing, pre-departure support from BUNAC and arrival orientation from IEP, airport transfer, two nights accommodation upon arrival, Sydney and Melbourne Resource Centers including advice and assistance from IEP staff on job and accommodation hunting, 24 hour emergency IEP assistance and discounted domestic travel options. The cost of the program for 2003-2004 is $495; this includes all embassy fees. A participant can have a visa issued up to 3 months in advance, allowing departures until September 30 on this year’s allocation. We expect the 2004-2005 Work Australia program to reopen later this summer. More information can be found at http://www.bunac.org/usa/workaustralia/.
