Horizon & Co. unlocks the secrets of Nunavut in the magical landscape of the Eastern Arctic.

In the brief sub-arctic summer, the days are long and Arctic cotton blows in the breeze as the Inuit set up their summer igloos and fish for Arctic char in the ancient fishing grounds. Rare birds, herds of caribou, and Arctic fox can be spotted, while Inuit sculptors carve in the open air. Spectacular successions of glaciers, sheer cliffs, delicate wildflowers, and looking glass waters are found -- pure tranquillity in every breath. Horizon’s trip takes travellers into the heart of this magical land, starting with a train ride on the legendary Hudson Bay Explorer from Winnipeg to Churchill, home of polar bears and beluga whales. The group then flies deep into the Eastern Arctic to Nunavut’s capital of Iqaluit, where the brightly-coloured houses and friendly inhabitants make the true spirit of the land shine and where communities of local artists produce their famous stone carvings, colourful prints and woven tapestries. After a dramatic flight over the Arctic Circle, the trip stops in Pangnirtung on Baffin Island, where travellers cruise magnificent fiords and feel the breath of glaciers calving in Auyuittuq National Park. At every stop Horizon takes travellers behind the scenes to experience the authentic ways of traditional life, meet local characters, and discover the virtues and charms of the Inuit people.

The 12 day Nunavut trip is priced at $9,875 CDN per person (which includes virtually everything), and runs throughout July and August.

With over 40 years of experience, Horizon & Co. has established a reputation as one of the leading tour operators in Canada by focusing on attention to detail and exceptional service. Horizon runs trips all around the world with the common goal of illuminating the authentic character of a place, rather than merely skimming the surface.
