Mobil Travel Guide appoints Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell for public relations

Mobil Travel Guide, America’s trusted travel advisor since 1958, has named Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell (YPB&R), Orlando, Fla., to manage national public relations for the Mobil Travel Guide and its entire family of travel publications.

The assignment includes publicity and public relations for:
• The debut of America’s Best Hotel & Resort Spas, a first-ever 128-page hard cover book highlighted by Mobil’s first-ever rating information on for hotel and resort spas and characterized by stunning photography and information about each spa presented in the book. America’s Best Hotel & Resort Spas is scheduled to debut on January 29, 2004.
• Sixteen all new Regional Travel Planners, introduced in October 2003
• A new series of ten City Guides, available in February 2004, focusing on America’s most popular destination cities and their surrounding areas.
• America’s Byways, a new publication series produced in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s America’s Byways program, showcasing America’s most scenic drives, including in-depth archeological, cultural, historic, natural and recreational information. The first four America’s Byways will be introduced in February 2004.
• Lodging & Restaurants for Less, a 520-page book listing more than 1,200 economical places to stay and eat, all for $60 or less per night
• On the Road with Your Pet, which provides in-depth Mobil-rated information about more than 4,000 Mobil-rated lodgings in North America for travelers with pets.

Lawrence Dustin, president, Mobil Travel Guide, announced the appointment of YPB&R to handle the national public relations assignment. In addition to the popular Mobil Travel Guide, characterized by Mobil’s prestigious one-to-five star awards, Mobil publishes a popular road-centric Road Atlas series in large format, large print, mid-size format and digest sizes, as well as a wide range of travel services.
