The Palms Tanning Resort, located in south Denver, Colorado, is a brand new upscale tanning resort that opened its doors on Feburary 14th, 2003. Within its first 6 months of business The Palms has already tanned over 15,000 tans and is poised to gross over $250,000 in its first year of business, which puts The Palms in the top 9% of all tanning salons across the country for annual gross revenues. With the tanning industry showing fantastic signs of growth, The Palms is a perfect example of a brand new salon with an upscale tropical theme that is seeing great revenues and positive future expansion. The Palms features a 9 foot waterfall surrounded by a rock cave that their customers walk through to enter the resort. There is a private sand beach with imported sand and a 12 foot theatre wall with moving ocean images of sunsets and beautiful white sand beaches. All of this is accompanied by a complete surround sound system to make its customers feel like they are visiting some exotic beach far from their ordinary lives in Denver.

The tanning bungalows are accented with hand-tied thatched roofs, imported bamboo, exotic furniture and mahogony trimmed walls. There is also a sandstone rock floor to complete the overall tropical island feel. Other unique ideas that The Palms provides their guests are special stereo headsets in all the tanning bungalows that are called "Escape", which feature endless sounds of crashing ocean waves to soothe their guests into complete tranquility while they are enjoying any one of The Palms' 13 world-class tanning beds.

"We want to do more than just tan people, Rodenberger said. We want to transport them out of Denver - it's like a small vacation."
