The Cooking Dinner Party Board Game

“The new Convivium exhibit was extremely popular and fascinating to guests at the show,” says Chris Meyers, Event Manager of the Atlantic City Gourmet Show. “This novel concept that combines great menus and cooking, with a social board game, will certainly take off as more people become aware of the game.”

The new cooking and dinner party board game, Convivium, was officially introduced to retail consumers at the Atlantic City Food and Gourmet show held October 25-27th. “We are thrilled about the initial consumer response as the Atlantic City show marked our first direct to consumer show. The timeliness and uniqueness of this entertainment alternative was confirmed by consumers that purchased the new game, ” says John Franks, Co-founder of Convivium. “In fact, the majority of folks that purchased the game as a holiday gift mentioned that they were not going to be able to wait until after the holidays to host a party and therefore purchased additional games.”

Convivium is a casual dinner party board game that combines a number of features in successful dinner parties. Great conversation, warm laughter, and friendly competition are drawn from guests as they play the appetizer round, main entrée round, and dessert round of the game in an effort to determine who will be the beverage manager, chef, wait staff, and winner for that course of the meal. Easy-to-follow shopping lists, invitation post cards, menu variations, and finish line recipe cards create a simple yet very entertaining and affordable dinner party. Cooking is a part of the game, and by playing the board game, the party creates the meal.

“We are presently working on strategic celebrity chef partners and retail gourmet chains that will offer national retail distribution, says Amy Franks, Co-founder of Convivium. “In the interim, the Convivium game, and additional free online menus are presently being offered at our official website located at
www.conviviumcooking.com.” The Convivium game presently retails for $29.95 for the holidays.

Happy Entertaining from the Convivium Staff!
