Where Can I fly for $200? Scan the World for Low Airfares with FareCompare.com

FareCompare today announced the launch of airfare getaway maps. Consumers can fly virtually around the globe with the latest version of Google maps to find the lowest price for travel from home.

"Let's face it -- everyone loves maps. With a quick glance air travelers can instantly put a price tag on their dream destination or stumble onto a nearby hidden gem," commented Rick Seaney, FareCompare's Chief Consumer Advocate.

Consumers can now adjust the map display for specific travel periods. International fares change by season and with this new date filter you can get an accurate picture of the best fares for your specific travel plans. The tool also allows you to see fares by airline, so you can see fares from your home airport to anywhere in the world on your preferred carrier.

FareCompare displays the estimated full ticket price for round trip travel. Taxes and fees very greatly from country to country. With an accurate estimate of all costs, consumers can make an informed choice on the best city to select. For example the base fare to travel from New York to London in July is $550. Once you add in $178 in taxes, the total fare is $728. Dublin, on the other hand, charges $86 in taxes and fees so can often be a cheaper alternative than London even if the base fare is more expensive.
