Adventure Girl, Stefanie Michaels is back from her Zero Gravity adventure from the company's newly launched service out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The star studded event featuring astronaut Buzz Aldrin, has made headlines around the world and Michaels is just proud to have been a part of the week of history in the making experiences, such as the recent Zero Gravity flight, which gave cosmologist, Dr.Stephen Hawking weightlessness.
"It was a truly glorious experience. My morning began with meeting Dr. Peter H. Diamandis, which was a thrill in itself- I am such a huge fan, and then meeting the rest of the Zero Gravity "soon to be "Zeronauts" like me. We watched some footage from previous flights in preparation and I have to say, it was certainly the most anticipation I have ever experienced when waiting to have an adventure. "
Michaels and her flight mates were suited up in their flight suits, boarded onto a bus to McCarran Airport. "We pulled up to the tarmac and there sat this gorgeous plane- all white with "Zero Gravity" on the side of it- my stomach flipped and I knew just by looking at her, this was going to be the ride of my life."
With 20 parabolas- the maneuver that allows for passengers to experience zero gravity, Michaels describes the experience as the most incredible adventure she has ever known, and says she never wanted it to end. "All of a sudden, we leveled out and were lying on the floor, and I was saying, More, More, More!"
Another treat for the self-proclaimed "closet astronaut", was the chance to sit and talk about the moon, science and life experiences with astronaut Buzz Aldrin. "My Father, who passed away two years ago, was a science and NASA buff- as a kid, he would wake me up at any hour to watch the take-offs and landings. It was "our thing" we did, we loved to share as Dad and daughter, and I still have some of his space memorabilia he left behind for me, says Michaels. "Buzz was my Dad's hero, and mine too- and to be able to sit with Buzz and share this Zero Gravity experience with him, two days after what would have been my Dad's b-day, well- it was as emotional as it gets."
Michaels explains that Dr. Peter H. Diamandis is a hero in the new kind of space race, by designing the weightlessness experience, and by bringing the world that much closer to commercial space travel. "Peter is this amazing man, full of passion, tenacity and a love for what he does," says Michaels, "and it is evident in not only his accomplishing this great feat of getting passengers to this point, but also his vision of where this kind of experience can go, and giving more and more people like myself, the opportunity to live such an amazing adventure. My hats off to not only Peter, but his partners veteran astronaut Dr. Byron K. Lichtenberg, and NASA engineer Ray Cronise."
Michaels plans more adventures with Zero Gravity, and hopes to share this one of a kind opportunity with her fans through special events. "I all ready have fans lining up- wanting to share their Zero Gravity flight with me, and I plan to deliver!" Michaels states emphatically. "And I also want them to experience this special thing that happens through the process- you board as a group of strangers, leave with this common bond and now you are part of the Zero G family."
